Tea

Shih Tzu · Female · Adult · 7 years

Hello everyone! 🐾 Let me introduce myself: my name is Tea, I am a very sweet little dog born in October 2019. I weigh 13 kg and am a small-to-medium-sized dog. Unfortunately, my life has not been easy. For years, I was used for breeding and never had the chance to experience what a carefree life truly means. I spent most of my life having puppies without ever receiving the love, care, and attention that I deserved. On top of that, I have faced some health challenges. I had several bald patches on my body, and recently I underwent a dental cleaning during which three broken teeth had to be removed. I also have a cataract in one eye, but thankfully I still seem to see quite well. Now, I am ready to start a new chapter in my life. I am a very loving dog who dreams of a family that will welcome me with affection, plenty of cuddles, and relaxing walks. I long for a soft sofa to rest on, a warm home where I can feel safe, and someone who will care for me forever. Today, I am searching for a special family who can look beyond my past and give me the chance to finally experience happiness. After spending my entire life giving without receiving enough in return, it is now time for someone to take care of me. I am sociable and friendly with other dogs, and I am hoping that somewhere out there, my forever family is waiting for me. I am currently in Albania, but for the right adoption, I can travel anywhere in Europe and to the United Kingdom within two to three weeks. 🐶 If you would like to give me a chance, I will be waiting here for you. 👉 I am vaccinated, spayed, and 4DX negative. 👉 Adoption only with an adoption contract, adoption fee, and pre-adoption home check (including RBU). 📝 Foster/adoption form: 📞 🇮🇹 Chiara (WhatsApp) – 🇬🇧 Chiara (WhatsApp only) – 🇩🇪 Sabrina (WhatsApp)

About Tea

What life with Tea looks like

Tea is a small adult shih tzu dog waiting at Furry Rescue Italy in Nazionale.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tea, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tea?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Furry Rescue Italy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tea on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tea if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Furry Rescue Italy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tea already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tea isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Furry Rescue Italy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tea and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
