Teddy

Male · Senior · 10 years

Teddy is a 10 year old Cotonese looking for his forever home. He enjoys chilling out and having lots of cuddles. He would spend all day on a lap if he could. Teddy loves going out for walks and being able to explore as he goes. His lovely fur needs regular grooming to keep him in tip top condition, he tolerates this well in short sessions but he may move away if he’s had enough. Teddy can be worried by other dogs out and about but we have been working on this with him and he is doing so well, he just needs space to feel comfortable and he won’t say no to a tasty reward for walking on nicely. Teddy does struggle to be left alone and is currently undergoing training to help him feel more comfortable and settled when alone. Because of this he is looking for someone that is able to spend lots of time with him while he settles and continue working on the training. While he can’t live with another dog, Teddy could potentially live with a confident cat who is used to dogs. He may be able to live with children aged 8 years and over who will understand his needs, and this will be dependent on successful introductions at the animals’ shelter. Any potential adopters will need to have a chat with our veterinary team prior to adoption to discuss Teddy’s ongoing medical needs. To register your interest in adopting Teddy, please complete an application form. If you are already registered with us and are interested in adoption, please contact us. As we receive many applications, we will only contact you if we think you are a good match. If you are renting your property, we will need to see proof of landlord permission.

About Teddy

What life with Teddy looks like

Teddy is a senior animal waiting at JSPCA — Jersey SPCA in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Teddy far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. JSPCA — Jersey SPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — JSPCA — Jersey SPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with JSPCA — Jersey SPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
