All Dogs Telia Drucken Published: December 18, 2025 Birthdate: estimated April 2023 Gender: female Breed: Mix Disability: Height (shoulder height): to be updated Weight: 18.2kg Telia is looking for a needle in a haystack or rather a miracle. When we first saw Telia, she was full of fear, trying to get as far away from us as possible. She had her nose pressed firmly into the corner, was thin and emaciated, and her hind legs seemed twisted. The sight touched us deeply, and it was clear that we wanted to give her a chance, to get to know her in peace, to give her time, and to look together with a vet clinic at how Telia can be supported as best as possible. Telia lived for a while in a foster home. She slowly gained trust and felt secure through routines, exploring her surroundings even in the presence of people. Telia is house-trained, can walk independently in the garden or go for a short walk. Other dogs are not needed by Telia. In fact, she is even afraid of excited or energetic dogs. She cannot move fast enough to get out of the situation and starts to shake violently. Therefore, a home as a single dog or only with a very calm dog would be beautiful. In the meantime, Telia has successfully mastered two relief operations and has developed wonderfully. She is allowed to go for short walks several times a day, and she especially enjoys this when she knows the people who are involved with her. Telia now also looks at us and cautiously approaches us. This may sound very small, but for a so frightened dog like Telia, it is huge!!!! Telia is looking for calm and patient people, preferably also with friendly and sensitive dogs that take in Telia as she is. A securely fenced yard would be a dream. Those who once fall under the spell of Telia's beautiful gaze will never let her go.

About Telia

What life with Telia looks like

Telia is a very small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Alsfeld in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Telia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Telia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Alsfeld handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Telia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Telia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Alsfeld will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Telia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Telia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Alsfeld early rather than rehoming privately; they know Telia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
