Adopt Tera

Female

Tera’s life is a real stray dog story… Born or dumped on the streets, she lost her family and was roaming looking for a little bit of kindness everywhere she could find. In some neighbourhoods she was kicked, in other neighbourhoods chased, with threats to poison her… She had few people who tried their best to give her food and to provide her with some kind of shelter, but the vile neighbours always won because the country is blind to killers who try to poison these harmless, defenceless dogs. The photos on this page show how Tera lived for 7 years. She has now found herself in kennels in order to get her off the streets and for her life to be spared. Tera is a very loyal dog, she will love the people who show her kindness and protect them. She has learned on the streets to stay away from other dogs in order to save herself and prefers her own company and that of the humans she loves. A rural semi rural home would be ideal for her, as an only dog or with another calm dog. Tera was given her name due to the beautiful colors of her fur that also match the earthy colors. Her internal beauty matches that of her coat and she is deserving of a caring, loving home.

About Tera

What life with Tera looks like

Tera is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Strays Without Borders in Skopje.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇲🇰Adopting from North Macedonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tera, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tera?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Strays Without Borders handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tera on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tera if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Strays Without Borders will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tera already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tera isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Strays Without Borders early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tera and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
