Teri – The battery? Full. His mood? Also full. 🐾 .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-0 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-imageframe.imageframe-1 img{aspect-ratio:9 / 16;object-position:22% 39%;} .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-1 > Location: Animal shelter in Slavonski Brod, Croatia Date of birth: 09.01.2022 Shoulder height: approx. 52 cm / approx. 18 kg Compatibility with cats can be tested Single or second dog Ideal environment: all levels suitable for: ambitious dog beginners .fusion-body .fusion-button Go directly to the self-disclosure .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-2 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-gallery-1 .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-3 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container Anyone who thinks a dog can be cuddly, funny, and full of energy all at once hasn't yet met Teri. This guy seems to wake up in the morning and think: “So... what adventure is on the agenda today?” With his wide grin, amber-colored eyes, and cheekily perky ears, he looks as if he’s got a little rascal permanently tucked behind his neck. Bad mood? Teri only knows it from hearsay. The roughly four-and-a-half-year-old male loves people—big ones just as much as little ones. He loves nothing more than cuddling, is playful, curious, and always ready to do something together. Whether it's long walks, exploring new paths, or simply being right in the middle of things instead of just watching—what matters most is being together. Two and a half years ago, Teri was found deep in the woods, far away from any settlement. Someone had simply left him there. Since then, he’s been living at the animal shelter. But anyone who thinks that’s broken him is sorely mistaken. Teri has kept his zest for life and generously shares it with everyone he meets. He gets along great with other dogs. Admittedly, sometimes he’s the slightly pushy buddy who just has to persuade everyone to play. 😄 But that’s exactly what makes him special. He’s cheerful, sociable, and absolutely peaceful—he doesn’t seek trouble. As for how he’d get along with cats, we don’t know yet. Of course, we can test that out if you’re interested. At around 52 cm tall at the shoulder and weighing 18 kg, Teri strikes the perfect balance between athleticism and everyday usability. He already walks nicely on a leash, travels comfortably in the car, and looks forward to people who enjoy being active together. As a clever terrier mix, he naturally wants to be mentally as well as physically stimulated in an appropriate way. Search games, training, or shared adventures—Teri is up for almost any kind of fun. One thing is certain: With Teri, it’s not just a dog moving in. It’s a real good-mood booster that brings life into the home, joins in every outing with enthusiasm, and falls asleep next to his people in the evening just as happily as he woke up in the morning. If you’re looking for a companion who takes life with a wink and makes every day a little bit more exciting, you should definitely meet Teri. ❤️🐾 .fusion-body .fusion-button Interested in adopting? About Teri

What life with Teri looks like

Teri is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Teri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Teri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Teri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Teri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Teri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Teri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Teri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
