Tessa is very adventurous and shows herself to be exceptionally intelligent – qualities that make her an ideal companion for active people. She is familiar with life in a house and is house-trained. A few hours alone do not pose a problem for Tessa, provided she has enough exercise and mental stimulation. While she has learned a lot in the animal shelter, this environment is a real catastrophe for the lively, affectionate female dog. She needs a close bond with her trusted people and prefers to be a single dog with an experienced handler who meets her needs. Tessas prey drive is breed-appropriate, so it is important to mentally and physically exhaust her. Nose work and other mental challenges are of great significance to her. She can be a leash rambo if she does not receive enough mental stimulation and is not consistently led, so structured training is essential. Tessa enjoys car rides and looks forward to many shared adventures.
