Adopt Theo verliert sein Zuhause

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Theo comes originally from Croatia and was adopted three years ago as a puppy by a family in Mecklenburg who run the Lebenshof Storchennest with many different animals. Unfortunately, they have to give up their dream for financial reasons and all the animals, unfortunately also Theo, are looking for a new home very soon… Theo is a very cheerful dog who is very people-oriented and loves to cuddle. He also gets along well with the two small children in the family and is very affectionate with them, only too much noise stresses him and then he barks. At the Lebenshof, there is always something going on with all the pigs, sheep, hares, cats, etc., where he is completely relaxed, which Theo does not like about the many small animals and cats, so there should be no small animals in his new home. He runs very well on a leash, is good everywhere and is relaxed about it, whether in the city, on a ship, or in nature, as long as he can. With strangers, especially men, he needs some time to realize that they only want to do him good, then he relaxes. He loves larger female dogs, with male dogs there are certain tensions, depending on the sympathy. He can do all basic commands, but needs clear rules and sufficient physical and mental stimulation. He enjoys fetching and loves water. He can be visited and met by his family. We wish for Theo an active, loving family with a lot of time, patience, and empathy.

About Theo verliert sein Zuhause

What life with Theo verliert sein Zuhause looks like

Theo verliert sein Zuhause is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenglück Bayern in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Theo verliert sein Zuhause, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Theo verliert sein Zuhause?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenglück Bayern handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Theo verliert sein Zuhause on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Theo verliert sein Zuhause if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenglück Bayern will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Theo verliert sein Zuhause already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Theo verliert sein Zuhause isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenglück Bayern early rather than rehoming privately; they know Theo verliert sein Zuhause and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
