German Shepherd · Male

Thor ID-Nr: 1052193 Breed: German Shepherd Age: ca. 11/2020 Gender: male shoulder height: ca. 70cm neutered/Sterilized: Ja Location: Marbella (Spain) Application Form Thor – magnificent German Shepherd seeks his happy ending Thor (ca. 11/2020, ca. 70 cm) was unfortunately abandoned by his previous owner, and the exact reasons for this are unknown to us. With his impressive size, Thor is a very strong dog who fits perfectly with people who are ready to guide him with loving training. As he is highly intelligent, Thor needs daily mental stimulation and physical activity to fulfill his needs and stay balanced. He already knows how to move in an urban environment and follows his human perfectly, which shows what an incredibly loyal companion he is. Despite his size and strength, he is an absolutely friendly and well-socialized guy. Whenever he is at physiotherapy, he always shows his deeply loving and gentle side and simply loves to be close to people. Currently, he lives together with other dogs in a yard and gets along very well with them, which proves his wonderful social behavior. For this smart and loving male dog, we are now looking for active people who enjoy training together and want to offer him the structured and fulfilling life he truly deserves. Thor has an EU pet passport for travel arrangements and is of course microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, tested for Mediterranean diseases, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Vaccinations: Yes Mediterranean check: Yes Microchip: Yes Diseases: None known Handicap: no Kennel: no including transport Contact: Larissa Spörl Tel: Email:. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Thor

What life with Thor looks like

Thor is a large adult german shepherd dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Thor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Thor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Thor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Thor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Thor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Thor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Thor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
