Thor - a friendly dog is urgently looking for a home or foster care. Thor is approximately 4.5 years old and has been in the animal shelter La Línea since February 2025. Along with his kennel companion Racher, he spends his days in the overcrowded shelter - an everyday life that is increasingly taking its toll on him. Thor is friendly and open at the shelter. Especially in contact with people, he is very affectionate and attached. During walks outside the kennel, he is attentive, responsive and also shows himself to be friendly there. He listens well and seems generally open to new experiences. However, in the kennel, it is clearly noticeable how much he lacks stimulation. Thor is becoming increasingly under-stimulated in the kennel and has already begun to run in circles - a behavior that we take seriously and which only emphasizes how urgently his living conditions need to improve. We suspect (based on his appearance) that Thor has a mix of shepherd dog and Schnauzer. Because of this, Thor probably has typical characteristics of a shepherd dog, and therefore we are looking for a home that has dealt with the needs of active and intelligent dogs. Shepherd dogs (and their mixes) usually require clear, reliable leadership, mental stimulation and sufficient exercise. They often show a strong willingness to bond and therefore often desperately want a reliable, stable home. We practically know nothing about Thor's past. Interested parties should be prepared that there is still a lot of training work to do with Thor. But the handsome dog has good prerequisites: He wants to work and to be active together with his people. As with many of our residents, it applies to Thor: He may have to learn about life in a normal household for the first time, or perhaps again. Patience, understanding and a gentle arrival are extremely important for dogs like him, and the support during this process is already an important part in building a real trust relationship. Whoever gives him this chance will bring a super friendly, eager-to-learn companion into the house, who simply hasn't had enough of the world yet. Mischling Thor – freundlicher Rüde sucht dringend Zuhause oder Pflegestelle Thor lebt momentan in unserem spanischen Partnertierheim. Thor zeigt sich trotz der schwierigen Umstände freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Besonders im Kontakt mit Menschen ist er sehr verschmust und anhänglich. Bei Spaziergängen außerhalb des Zwingers ist er aufmerksam, gut ansprechbar und zeigt sich auch dort freundlich. Er hört gut und scheint grundsätzlich offen für neue Eindrücke. Im Zwinger hingegen ist deutlich zu spüren, wie sehr ihm Auslastung fehlt. Thor ist dort immer offensichtlicher unterfordert und beginnt bereits, im Kreis zu laufen – ein Verhalten, das wir ernst nehmen und das nur unterstreicht, wie dringend sich seine Lebensumstände endlich verbessern müssen. Wir vermuten (basierend auf seinem Aussehen), dass in Thor eine Mischung aus Schäferhund und Schnauzer schlummert. Da Thor deshalb sehr wahrscheinlich rassetypische Merkmale des Schäferhundes mitbringt, wünschen wir uns für ihn ein Zuhause, das sich mit den Bedürfnissen aktiver und intelligenter Hunde auseinandergesetzt hat. Schäferhunde (und deren Mischlinge) benötigen in der Regel eine klare, verlässliche Führung, geistige Auslastung und ausreichend Bewegung. Sie zeigen meist eine hohe Bindungsbereitschaft und wünschen sich deshalb oft umso dringender ein zuverlässiges, festes Zuhause. Wir wissen quasi nichts über Thors Vergangenheit. Interessent*innen sollten sich darauf einstellen, dass mit Thor noch einiges an Erziehungsarbeit zu leisten ist. Aber der schöne Rüde bringt dafür gute Voraussetzungen mit: Er hat Lust zu arbeiten und gemeinsam mit seinen Menschen aktiv zu sein. Wie bei vielen unserer Schützlinge gilt: Thor muss das Leben in einem normalen Haushalt vielleicht zum ersten Mal, vielleicht auch erneut kennenlernen. Geduld, Verständnis und ein behutsames Ankommen sind für Hunde wie ihn ungemein wichtig und die Unterstützung dabei ist schon ein wichtiger Teil in der Bildung eines echten Vertrauensverhältnisses. Wer ihm diese Chance gibt, holt sich einen super sympathischen, lernwilligen Gefährten ins Haus, der bisher einfach zu wenig von der Welt kennenlernen durfte.
