adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Tia has found her home! Her story: Tia – super sweet princess puppy searches for her family. The little mouse is currently 4 months old and will eventually grow to be medium-sized. She is initially a bit reserved but warms up quickly and then becomes cuddly, people-oriented, and gets along with everyone. With her strikingly marked face, she is a real looker. She is athletic, loves to play, and enjoys romping with the other foster puppies. She is looking for people who are willing to give her a chance and show her how a normal dog life works. Like every baby, she still has a lot to learn, and occasional mishaps shouldn't be held against her because she doesn't know any better. She should always be accompanied by a positively reinforced training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks and many snuggling hours. A visit to the puppy school would surely make her very happy and help her family become a well-coordinated team. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching, with hormone chaos turning the lives of the little rascals upside down. They often forget everything they have learned so far, and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to be consistent but loving in training and stay on top of things, because this phase will pass. Tia is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has an EU pet passport. A successful adoption is pending. The little mouse can be visited at her foster home. Thank you, Denise, for giving her her wonderful name and thus the chance at a home! As of: 02.05.

Stand: 02.05.2024

About Tia

What life with Tia looks like

Tia is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
