Tiger

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 9 months

Tiger is a tender and curious snuggle ball, a little world conqueror who really wants to find his own happiness! The handsome male dog was born in August 2025 and found with his siblings - probably the little ones were abandoned and left to their own devices. The committed animal welfare workers of Puntanimals took the babies in and lovingly cared for them. One puppy after another was able to go to a new home to start a new life with their soulmates, but Tiger is still eagerly waiting to claim his place in a family. Now Tiger is about 9 months old and has developed into a cheerful, open-minded young dog. He is a funny mix of Terrier and Podenco, small and with an unmistakable look. His cute beard, the wavy coat with stylish white patches and the big, shining eyes make him a real eye-catcher! Anyone who meets Tiger for the first time is immediately charmed by his charm and friendly nature. Tiger loves discovering new things and playing - whether it's playing with other dogs, going for a walk or cuddling with his favorite people. He is a lively, active dog who enjoys fun and life. At the same time, Tiger is very cuddly and enjoys every caress you give him. The closeness to people is especially important to him, and he is delighted with every affection and attention - for all that there is not so much time in the animal shelter as Tiger would like. However, Tiger shows a willingness to learn and is attentive, he understands quickly and wants to please. He wishes for people who enjoy showing a young dog the world, learning together and having adventures. Whether as a sporting companion on walks, in agility or as a family dog - Tiger is open to everything that promises fun and mental stimulation. He is ready to take on any career that is connected with play and cuddles! Tiger gets along well with other dogs, likes to play and is very social. He can also imagine a future with children, provided they already know how to treat animals respectfully. Tiger would be happy to finally get a real home where he is loved and can be part of a family. If you want to learn more about Tiger and give him a chance for a new life, we look forward to hearing from you soon!

About Tiger

What life with Tiger looks like

Tiger is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tiger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tiger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tiger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tiger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tiger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tiger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tiger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
