Tigi

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Tigi is a wonderful girl that has found herself in the care of Friends of Akitas through no fault of her own. It's definitely time for her to find her new family, and live the life she deserves. She is 7 yrs old and is looking for an adult, pet free home where she can become your best friend and taken on lots of walks. Walks are what she loves and when she knows its "walkies" time she will bow down to show her excitement. She will pull a little to start with, but then settles down and will sniff to her hearts content and watch out for birds and squirrels. Tigi has the loveliest of natures, but can be a little nervous when she is unsure of something. She may sometimes show this with a little bark, but with love and reassurance, will soon stop. A ride in the car will make Tigi a happy girl and she will sit and watch the world go by or settle down for a snooze. She does not like sharing her food with anyone, (Who Does !), so will need a home that understands this and will give her peace and quiet to eat alone. For this reason she needs to be homed as an only dog and best with no children around to disturb her. Overall Tigi is a fabulous and friendly girl that just wants lots of love and care. The kennel environment is not for her, so let's get her a lovely forever home very soon. If you can offer gorgeous Tigi a loving home, please contact Friends of Akitas below Complete the adoption form here. E mail : Please say that you saw Tigi on Oldies Club.

About Tigi

What life with Tigi looks like

Tigi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tigi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tigi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tigi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tigi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tigi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tigi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tigi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
