Adoption requirements Adoption process Ask about this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Ask about this cat now! Who can resist these beautiful green eyes? Yet Tigrinya has been waiting so long to finally be seen. She is now about four years old - and longs more than anything for a home where she can belong. Tigrinya was found in Romania together with another cat. We don't know much about her past, but she has learned to be cautious. In her foster home, she shows herself as a quiet, sensitive female cat who needs time to build trust. She observes carefully, keeps her distance at first, and decides herself when closeness is possible for her. It's exactly this delicate nature that makes her so special. With patience, calmness and empathy, Tigrinya will gradually learn that people mean well by her - and that cuddles can be something beautiful. She doesn't need expectations or pressure, but people who allow her her own pace and appreciate small progress. Tigrinya knows and values living with other cats. Therefore, we don't want to place her in single housing. A friendly, social cat companion in the new home would give her security and help her adjust faster. For Tigrinya we wish a quiet home suitable for apartment living, where she can feel safe. She would be very happy with a secured balcony to sniff fresh air and enjoy the sun. Tigrinya is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She naturally comes with an EU pet passport. After a positive evaluation Who will finally give this gentle cat soul the chance to arrive and build trust? Tigrinya is waiting - quietly, patiently and full of hope - for her people. Many thanks Silvie S., you gave her her name and thus her identity. Date: 19.01.

About Tigrinya

What life with Tigrinya looks like

Tigrinya is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tigrinya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tigrinya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tigrinya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tigrinya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tigrinya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tigrinya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tigrinya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
