Tigrou

Belgian Malinois · Male · Adult · 4 years

My story: Meet Tigrou, a four-year-old Malinois! He arrived at the shelter via the municipal pound. His owner was contacted but, unfortunately, never got in touch to come and collect the handsome Tigrou. He is now waiting for a new family who will be able to give him the life he deserves. Tigrou is a very affectionate dog, very close to people and particularly intelligent. Because of his breed, he will need an committed family, capable of meeting both his physical and mental needs. He will need plenty of daily exercise, but also intellectual stimulation to fully thrive. My personality: He is a big player who loves balls! He also really enjoys walks, rolling around in the grass and, being a good gourmand, he never says no to a few treats! As for getting along with other dogs, Tigrou gets on well with females. However, things can be more complicated with males, especially intact males. If another dog is already in his future home, a meeting at the shelter will be essential to check their compatibility. So far, Tigrou has not yet been tested with cats, so we do not know how he will react to them. I like / I don't like: A family with children could well suit him, provided the children are not very young. Tigrou can be a little rough in his interactions and may accidentally knock them over. We are looking for a family for Tigrou that is active, available and aware of the needs of his breed, one that will offer him great activities, mental stimulation and, above all, lots of love. Tigrou is an endearing, playful and intelligent dog who simply wants to find a family for life. After such a difficult start, he finally deserves to settle into a home where he will be loved and will never be left behind again.

About Tigrou

What life with Tigrou looks like

Tigrou is an adult belgian malinois dog waiting at APAA Trégrom in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tigrou, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tigrou?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAA Trégrom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tigrou on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tigrou if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAA Trégrom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tigrou already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tigrou isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAA Trégrom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tigrou and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
