Tiki

Podenco · Female · Adult · 6 years

If there ever was the sweetest berry on the Earth, then we have found her - Tiki, a lovely, kind, and so loving Podenco girl, who was dumped in front of a dog hotel in a cardboard box in a very poor condition at the time, that was in May 2021 and she was about 1 year old. During her arrival, she was also attacked by a wandering big dog, that injured her terribly. But Tiki is a survior girl, she recovered quickly and strongly under the care of the hotel guardian, and blossomed into the most beautiful, tender flower. Sweet TikTik lives in the dog residence since many years with a big group of dogs - male, female, old, young, puppies, small and huge ones - all friendly dogs are her friends. Tiki is also very welcoming of all kind humans, and she really loves the attention. When you give Tiki love and attention, it activated the Zoomies button in her, and then you'll see her doing a happy zoomies run, before returning to you for kisses & cuddles. Yes, Tiki has a bit of a shy nature, so she makes herself a little bit small when approaching a new person, but she is not afraid. And when you then approach her with encouraging words, she directly starts to wiggle her tail and is ready to be best friends. TikTik also does not say no to snacks at all, and she likes to do little training exercises to earn the treats. We cannot believe we have met such a wonderful little girl! Tiki is looking for a forever home, and she is flexible in her wishes - she could be a part of a family with many many dogs, or she could be a friend to a lonely dog, bringing cheerfulness and soft confidence perhaps also to a scared, anxious dog. She loves to run, to investigate bushes, look for bugs and butterflies, like a proper Podenco. At the end of an active day, Tiki will very happily come sit on your lap on the sofa, and watch TV together. She makes her business outside and is house-trained in her current residence. Though Tiki is so great with so many dogs, we believe she potentially could also be a single dog in a home where she can spend most of the day together with her human, because she really loves to be with her human, she melts into the hands of her human like butter under the sun. We do not yet know what Tiki thinks about a city environment, so that can be tested upon request, but ideally Tiki would love to live close to the nature, on the countryside, but also a suburban setting would be lovely. She loves to swim as well, and even rainy weather doesn’t bother her. In the residence, she is used to going for nature walks with her pack without a leash - she stays together with the pack and her guardian. Her shoulder height is 48cm.

About Tiki

What life with Tiki looks like

Tiki is a medium-sized adult podenco dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tiki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tiki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tiki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tiki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tiki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tiki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tiki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
