Timmy

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel · Male · Young · 3 years

Timmy absolutely loves his walks, I don’t think he was getting a lot of walks in his previous home, so he does get very excited when he knows he’s going out, so a home that is up for taking him on adventures is needed. One of Timmy’s favorite things to do is to chase butterflies and anything that flies, so just keep this in mind if he will be having offlead time in the future. Timmy is fully house trained, he has had no accidents since being in foster and asks when he needs to go out, and he travels well in the car. Timmy would suit a home where someone is around most of the time, isn’t too loud or busy and just want a dog that they can take out and about on lots of walks and have loads of cuddles with. He’s such a lovely boy, just needs to find his perfect home. Timmy is a super sweet 3 year old Cavachon. He does take a little while to warm up to new people initially, but once he knows you, he is the cuddliest boy, it just takes some time to build up his confidence. He can live with children age 10+, but they need to have previous dog experience because Timmy can be sensitive, so understanding kids in the home are essential. Timmy needs to live with another dog in the home, as they do give him a lot of confidence and he really comes out of his shell around dogs. He has always been with another dog so I do think he would struggle being the only dog. Timmy isn’t a fan of being left alone, so he needs people who ideally work from home or are at home most of the time. I do think he has potential to be left in the future, but this would have to be built up slowly and at his pace. Timmy can be a little shy with handling around his head, but all fine if you go slow with him, he can also be worried by loud noises so a quieter home would suit him best.

About Timmy

What life with Timmy looks like

Timmy is a young adult cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Dogs Trust Bridgend in Mid Glamorgan.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Timmy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Timmy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Bridgend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Timmy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Timmy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Bridgend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Timmy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Timmy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Bridgend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Timmy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
