Adoption requirements Adoption process Ask about this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Ask about this dog now! Timmy was found in a very poor condition on the street. His coat was unkempt and matted, so we had no choice but to give him a fresh summer haircut. But don't worry, his beautiful thick coat will grow back soon. This approximately two-year-old male dog is a real all-rounder when it comes to potential future housemates. In his foster home he currently lives with big and small dogs and loves to run and play with them. Moreover, he lives with not one, not two, but 15 cats. No problem for Timmy! Even though he definitely prefers fellow animals as playmates, he gets along completely peacefully with the cats. He even eats together with them. Similarly to other dogs, it is the same with people. Timmy loves people and especially loves lots of attention and countless cuddles. This young dog is active and absolutely lovable. Of course, he will probably not come to his family as a "finished" dog. Even though he will certainly learn something in his foster home, it is likely that some additional training in basic dog ABC will be necessary. We look forward to the day when Timmy meets his heart's people and they shower him with love and security. Timmy is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas. He has an EU pet passport and can go to a home after a positive. A foster home would also be a gift for this lovable treasure. Have you already fallen for Timmy? Then please contact us. Many thanks dear Iris, for your sponsorship of the name. Thanks to you, Timmy will surely soon meet his family. Date: 18.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Hast du dich schon in Timmy verguckt? Dann melde dich sehr gerne bei uns. Vielen Dank liebe Iris, für deine Namenspatenschaft. Dank dir darf Timmy sicherlich bald seine Familie kennenlernen. Stand: 18.04.2026

About Timmy

What life with Timmy looks like

Timmy is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Timmy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Timmy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Timmy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Timmy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Timmy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Timmy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Timmy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
