adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Tiny Tim is a medium-sized, athletic male dog with shining, short-coated fur in warm brown and beige tones. His alert, expressive eyes immediately reveal that here lies a clever and sensitive dog. He had already drawn the big lottery and got to move into his own home as a puppy, but the turbulent environment with small children was simply too chaotic for him. For about six months, Tiny Tim has been living in a foster home in Wegberg. There, he is regularly trained, and he learns to navigate a structured environment. Although he doesn't have a close primary caregiver there, he shows how willing to learn, attentive, and open he is when offered clear rules and orientation. Tiny Tim is a dog who is, on one hand, sensitive and cautious, and on the other, curious and interested. He observes new situations closely before he dares to join in. With familiar people, he opens up quickly and then reveals his friendly, endearing nature. He is house-trained, can stay alone after getting used to it, and walks well on a leash – especially in a quiet environment. Despite his progress, Tiny Tim is not a dog who is "ready" to move into a new home. His new family should definitely continue the training that began in the foster home. With patience, clear structures, and positive reinforcement, he can grow into a balanced, confident companion. Tiny Tim needs people who guide him with loving consistency, give him time, and neither overwhelm nor smother him. He is a smart, active dog who needs mental stimulation – both physically and mentally. Walks, hide-and-seek games, or targeted training in a positively working dog training class would benefit him greatly. It's important to maintain a good balance between stimulation and quiet phases, as Tiny Tim needs to learn to relax and manage everyday life more easily. For him, we wish for a quiet, structured home, ideally in rural surroundings with a fenced garden, where no children, cats, or small animals live. A confident, balanced dog by his side could help him build trust faster, but it is not a must. His new people should have experience with sensitive dogs and enjoy learning together with him. Tiny Tim is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and has an EU pet passport. After a positive review, Tiny Tim would also be very happy to join another experienced foster home! A heartfelt thank you to Birgit C., who gave Tiny Tim his name and thus his identity – now all that's missing is the home where he can finally arrive. As of: 03.06.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Tiny Tim

What life with Tiny Tim looks like

Tiny Tim is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tiny Tim, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tiny Tim?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tiny Tim on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tiny Tim if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tiny Tim already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tiny Tim isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tiny Tim and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
