Adopt Tippers

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

I am the little Tippers (born around July/August 2024). My nickname is Tippi because I like to tap on the feet or legs of my human with my paw. When there are unfamiliar visitors, I get a bit nervous, but once I gain some trust, my curiosity usually takes over and I come to see what's happening. I really like fellow animals, so I wish for at least one friend in my new home. Sure, I love cuddling with my trusted person, but watch out if you try to pick me up: I find that really intrusive and I'll be gone before you know it. Fortunately, I'm not one to hold grudges – so I'll naturally come back to the couch later and get lots of cuddles. As you can see in the video, I'm a really nice guy. Would you like to meet me? Currently, I live in a foster home in Veitsbronn (LK Fürth).

About Tippers

What life with Tippers looks like

Tippers is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierhilfe Weidenberg und Umgebung e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tippers, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tippers?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Weidenberg und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tippers on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tippers if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Weidenberg und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tippers already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tippers isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Weidenberg und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tippers and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
