Tippins

Labradoodle · Female · Adult · 4 years

06-07-26 Tippins is a lovely lady who has come into our care from a breeder. She is a little apprehensive when she first meets new people, but she is already showing signs that her confidence is growing. Once she knows you, she enjoys a fuss and is happy to be handled. Tippins has a big personality and is a fun girl to spend time with. At the moment, Tippins is feeling a little less brave and is finding comfort in the company of her kennel friends. We feel it would be best for her to be rehomed with at least one other confident resident dog for support and companionship. She has always lived with bigger dogs and seems happiest around them. Tippins can be a little bossy with less confident dogs, so she wouldn't be suitable to live with smaller or younger dogs. We will continue to assess her confidence while she is with us to see if she could adapt to being an only dog. She will need adopters with ex-breeding experience that can understand her needs. As Tippins has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient while she settles in and learns what home life is all about. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens, aged 16+ that can allow her time to settle into a calm environment. Tippins already walks on a lead, but doesn't seem to be overly confident on this so she will need continued support as she learns, and once she has settled into her new home, she would enjoy one or two walks around the local area with her resident dog so that she can continue lead training. Tippins is a lovely girl with lots of character. She's already showing us what a sweet dog she is, and we hope that, with time and patience, she'll continue to grow in confidence and enjoy everything home life has to offer. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Tippins

What life with Tippins looks like

Tippins is a large adult labradoodle dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tippins, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tippins?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tippins on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tippins if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tippins already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tippins isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tippins and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
