Titina

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 18 years

Titina is a small cat with a fragile heart and big eyes, arriving at our animal shelter after a story unfortunately common to many "different" animals. She tested positive for FeLV, so the sweet Titina found herself alone because too many still do not feel they can adopt an FeLV-positive cat. At our animal welfare shelter, we strive every day to dispel the false myths about FeLV. FeLV-positive cats can indeed live peacefully, especially in an apartment, protected and loved, sharing spaces with other FeLV-positive cats or with vaccinated cats. Their lives can be long and full of affection, if only they are given a chance. Titina is no different: she just needs tranquility, routine, and a stable environment where she can feel protected. Unfortunately, her extreme shyness and the fear accumulated over time make her unsuitable for a new move or traditional adoption. For this reason, we are looking for a distance adoption for her, a precious choice that allows you to support her without forcing her to endure new traumas. With a distance adoption, you can contribute to her feeding, veterinary care, and daily well-being, staying updated on her progress and receiving regular photos and news. In our section dedicated to distance adoptions, you will find all the information to become her guardian angel. Titina deserves to feel loved and protected. With your help, she can live the peaceful life she has always dreamed of, surrounded by the attention she so desperately needs. Animal Welfare Shelter ODVI is registered at the Regional Voluntary Association Registry with Directive Act n. 102/SA of 21/05/2008, number 260. Fiscal Code: 92049230516. Call the ASL central office () for the veterinary service, which will activate the capture service on duty.

About Titina

What life with Titina looks like

Titina is a small senior mixed breed cat waiting at Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali in Italy.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Titina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Titina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Titina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Titina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Titina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Titina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali early rather than rehoming privately; they know Titina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
