adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Tjark has found a home! His story: The young elf-like Tjark was discovered with his mother and two siblings during a spay/neuter operation on a deserted piece of land. For the beautiful male dog with the special facial fur coloration, this was a big change in life, as he suddenly found himself in the loud and unfamiliar shelter. The many new impressions still scare him, but the pretty boy is slowly warming up. With some fine treats like yogurt or cheese, he quickly comes out of his shell and is easily won over. From his kennel and especially from the safe little house, he now curiously observes what is happening around him. One can see that he really has a desire for an adventurous and colorful life, but he wants to be picked up by the paw. During his first outing with a harness and leash, Tjark still didn't quite know how to behave. Everything was unfamiliar and exciting! But he managed it with great courage. With patience, calmness, and a little training, he will surely learn step by step to gain trust and security. Tjark is friendly with other dogs, but we cannot yet make any statements about his behavior towards cats. At just 6–7 months old, Tjark is approaching puberty. During this developmental phase, young dogs often test their limits and need clear, loving orientation. Tjark is not housebroken, does not know basic commands, and is not familiar with life in a house; all of this he will have to learn. Patience, understanding, and positive dog training classes will help him develop into a reliable companion. Tjark travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas, and dewormed with an EU pet passport. After a positive evaluation, would you like to show this handsome fellow what it's like to arrive in safety and finally gain trust in life? A big thank you goes to Ruth M., who not only gave Tjark his name but also the chance at a new life! As of: 19.11.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 19.11.2025

About Tjark

What life with Tjark looks like

Tjark is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tjark, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tjark?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tjark on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tjark if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tjark already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tjark isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tjark and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
