Tom Tom is a Fiv-positive Tom cat estimated to be around 7–8 years old. He has been tested positive for Fiv, but otherwise his blood values/organs are unremarkable. He has a narrowed trachea which does not restrict him in everyday life - he breathes normally and plays as usual. If he gets too energetic, he may pant briefly, but he realizes it and lies down for a moment and it is quickly back to normal. At least that was the case at the beginning, in the last few weeks he has been playing without showing any signs of distress. One should only be careful not to expose him to extreme heat. He can handle temperatures up to about 29 degrees Celsius without problems, above which I have placed him in my air-conditioned bedroom during the heatwave, which worked well. (I live in an apartment with a flat roof and it gets quite hot there, so I didn't want to risk it) His heart was examined by a cardiologist - it is slightly enlarged but causes no problems and he does not need medication. He is a very nice guy, rather quiet but present, not shy. He likes head rubs, seeks closeness and also "talks" sometimes. At first he needs some time to settle in, which is normal. He is more of a confident type, maybe even a lone cat with a big appetite. A dental check-up, possibly with tooth restoration, is still pending. Vermittlungshilfe für den Fiv-positiven TOM TOM wird auf ca. 7–8 Jahre geschätzt. Er wurde Fiv-positiv getestet, aber ansonsten sind seine Blutwerte / Organe unauffällig. Er hat eine verengte Luftröhre, was ihn im Alltag aber nicht einschränkt – er atmet normal und spielt auch ganz normal. Wenn er zu arg tobt, kann es sein, dass er kurz hechelt, aber das merkt er und legt sich dann kurz hin und es ist schnell wieder gut. Zumindest war das zu Beginn so, in letzten paar Wochen tobt er, ohne dass man ihm etwas anmerkt. Man sollte nur darauf achten, dass er keiner extremen Hitze ausgesetzt wird. Temperaturen bis etwa 29 Grad steckt er problemlos weg, darüber hinaus habe ich ihn während der Hitzewelle vorsorglich in mein klimatisiertes Schlafzimmer gesetzt, das hat gut funktioniert. (Ich habe eine Dachwohnung und heizt sich ganz schön auf, das wollte ich nicht riskieren) Sein Herz habe ich beim Kardiologen untersuchen lassen – es ist leicht vergrößert, macht aber keine Probleme und er braucht keine Medikamente. Vom Wesen her ist er ein ganz lieber Kerl Eher ruhig, aber präsent, nicht schüchtern. Er gibt gerne Köpfchen, sucht Nähe und „erzählt“ auch mal. Anfangs braucht er etwas Zeit zum Ankommen, das ist ja normal. Er ist eher ein selbstbewusster Typ, vielleicht eher ein Einzelkater mit sehr viel Appetit. Es steht noch ein Zahn-Check, möglicherweise mit Zahnsanierung an. Der liebe, verschmuste Kerl ist selbstverständlich inzwischen kastriert. Wer hat ein Plätzchen für TOM?
