adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this dog! Tonda has found a home! Your story: Tonda is one of eight siblings—along with Ida, Alf, Joey, Tashiko, Roberto, Sabsi, and Akashi, she was rescued from very poor living conditions by the Animal Police. The puppies lived with their mother with a man who kept them in inhumane conditions. Our animal welfare worker Dorel was immediately willing to take the whole family into the Shelter Busag, but only the eight puppies were brought in. The mother had to stay with the owner, who received a fine and was required to have her spayed and improve the living conditions. We still hope to be able to take her in someday. Tonda is about four months old and belongs to the "Wuschelmädchen" group of the litter: she has long, fluffy fur, predominantly in brown tones, and a pretty white stripe on her nose, which makes her face stand out. In the pack, Tonda shows typical puppy behavior, being cheerful, playful, and curious. When she is with her siblings, she really comes alive, playing, running, and exploring her surroundings. Without her siblings, she is a little shy and needs some time to warm up. However, she always behaves politely and one can see that she is a gentle, sensitive being that will quickly gain trust with the right support. We assume that Tonda is a German Shepherd mix and will grow to be medium to large when fully grown. Her mother weighs about 20 kg. German Shepherds are very loyal, intelligent, and hardworking dogs who like to be physically active and mentally engaged. Tonda will therefore be happy with people who enjoy walks, dog training classes, hide-and-seek games, and learning together—paired with calmness, patience, and clear structures. In the near future, Tonda will enter the young dog puberty, the well-known phase where many things that have already worked well are "forgotten" and tested again. For Tonda, we are looking for a home where she is accompanied through this time with loving consistency, humor, and patience, so that she can grow into a confident, reliable companion. Tonda will travel microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to her new home. She will of course also bring her EU pet passport. Do you fulfill Tonda's wish? She would also be very happy to go to a foster home as a stepping stone to her new life. Many thanks Ker Wa! You have named Tonda! Date: 05.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Ker Wa! Du hast Tonda ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 05.01.2026

About Tonda

What life with Tonda looks like

Tonda is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tonda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tonda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tonda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tonda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tonda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tonda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tonda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
