Adopt Topolino

Male · Young · 2 years

This handsome tiger tomcat was born in the colony cared for by our partner Ale in Sassari. At first, he was shy, but he has now become affectionate and friendly. When Ale had him neutered, she decided not to return him to the colony. In his foster home, Topolino has become friends with the lovely Lindo. The two really like each other, groom each other, and often lie together in a dog bed. Perhaps the two might even find their dream home together. Topolino definitely needs friendly feline company in his new home. Topolino has arrived in his German foster home. Would you like to take Topolino into your family? We look forward to your message. For our cats, we generally prefer homes that are suitable for apartment living with a cat-safe netted balcony or secured terrace.

Möchten Sie Topolino in Ihre Familie aufnehmen? Dann freuen wir uns auf Ihre Nachricht. Für unsere Katzen bevorzugen wir generell die Wohnungshaltung mit vernetztem Balkon bzw. gesicherter Terrasse. Ihr Ansprechpartner für diese

About Topolino

What life with Topolino looks like

Topolino is a young adult cat waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Topolino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Topolino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Topolino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Topolino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Topolino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Topolino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Topolino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
