Tordis

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Tordis has found her people! Her story: Kuschelbärchen Tordis is a totally cuddly, open-minded, and playful female puppy. She loves to dash across the lawn with the other foster dogs, dust off her treats, or just relax and be stroked. She is very people-oriented and friendly. Whether man or woman, old or young, Tordis finds all people equally wonderful and also shows herself to be super social with her fellow animals. She longs for a family that enjoys long forest walks, enjoys cozy evenings on the couch, takes her on exciting hide-and-seek games, and shows her the beautiful sides of the world. A family where she can simply play to her heart's content and lead a normal dog life. She is currently around 4 months old and is expected to grow to be at most medium-sized when fully grown. An exact assessment is difficult with mixed breeds, as we do not know the father. Tordis still has to learn the whole puppy ABC and also has puberty ahead of her. Here, she needs people who approach with lots of love and patience, and may also need to attend some positively working dog training classes with her and forgive her one or two mishaps. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are still foreign words to her. During puberty, she will surely test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Tordis will definitely be a great lifelong partner. Tordis is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and brings an EU pet passport with her and can be adopted after a positive match. Who will give Tordis a loving forever home? Many thanks to Lena! You named Tordis. Date: 07.08.

Vielen Dank an Lena! Du hast Tordis ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 07.08.2024

About Tordis

What life with Tordis looks like

Tordis is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tordis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tordis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tordis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tordis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tordis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tordis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tordis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
