adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Totti has found a home! His story: Totti is a dog who immediately catches the eye not only because of his beautiful fur coloration but also through his alert, bold gaze, which radiates pure joy. Standing at only about 30 cm at the shoulder and weighing 6 kg, he belongs to the small breeds, yet his energy is immense. He was found by a teacher on the way to school when she made a short stop at a parking lot near a village. Suddenly, this little fellow crawled out of the bushes. At first, everyone thought he had wandered off, but no microchip was present, and no one asked about him. It’s likely that the little Totti was simply abandoned. Despite this experience, he shows himself to be open, friendly, and trusting. He is playful, people-oriented, and would rather be close to his primary caregiver at all times. He gets along well with other dogs, but his compatibility with cats has not been tested. On the leash, he runs surprisingly well, as if he had already lived in a home before. Totti brings a lot of energy. Walks, play sessions, and mental stimulation should be part of his everyday life. He is not a dog who just follows along, but a little buddy who likes to be part of what happens. At the same time, he needs clear boundaries and quiet phases where he can also rest, a structured daily routine with fixed schedules would be ideal. Although Totti has adapted well so far, his life in the house might still be new to him. His new people should be ready to patiently teach him what’s important for a family dog, from house training to being alone. Positive dog training classes can help him a lot. Totti travels microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and flea-treated. He has an EU pet passport and can travel from the end of July onwards. Who will give this lively little fellow with a big heart a home where he can finally belong? Many thanks to Stevie A, who gave Totti his sweet name and the chance at a new life! As of: 29.06.

Stand: 29.06.2025

About Totti

What life with Totti looks like

Totti is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Totti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Totti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Totti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Totti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Totti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Totti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Totti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
