adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Treats has found its own home directly! His story: Treats is an approximately 3-year-old, beautiful male dog with light, blonde fur, floppy ears, and a gaze that immediately radiates warmth. Currently, he lives in Romania, in a private shelter in Zalau – a place that offers safety but cannot replace a home. With a shoulder height of about 56 cm and weighing 27 kg, Treats belongs to the medium to large-sized dogs. His nature strongly resembles that of a Labrador: very people-oriented, clingy, and always eager to do things right. Treats simply wants to belong. He craves human proximity, loves cuddles, and is happiest when he can be right in the middle. While he is active and full of energy, his heart beats most for snuggles and shared time. And visually, we cannot deny that Labrador genes could be in him. On the leash, Treats already walks well, although of course, he still needs more exercise and training to be physically and mentally stimulated. He finds treats especially delightful – and they work wonderfully as motivation and for training. Treats gets along well with other dogs and shows social behavior. Treats has not known life in a household before. All the small and big things of everyday life – house cleanliness, household noises, fixed routines – are still new to him. But through his open nature, his willingness to learn, and his desire to please, he brings excellent prerequisites to adapt quickly. With patience, loving guidance, and positive reinforcement, Treats will step by step understand how wonderful life as a family dog can be. His story is unfortunately typical for many dogs: Treats appeared in a city near Zalau, wandered around for weeks, always searching for food and connection. The neighbors tried to find his family – in vain. No one was looking for him, he had no microchip. Probably, he was simply abandoned. When the public shelter was finally informed, an engaged neighbor, Andreea, asked for help to spare Treats that fate. So he came to safety – but his biggest wish is still open: his own home. For Treats, we wish people who enjoy a friendly, people-oriented dog and give him the time to adjust to his new life. He can integrate into almost any family constellation – what matters are affection, shared activities, and a place where he can belong. A visit to a positively working dog training class would be a wonderful opportunity for Treats to continue learning and gain security in everyday life. Treats is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He has his EU pet passport and is ready for the next step. Treats is ready to give his heart. Who will show this wonderful male dog that he will never be alone again? Many thanks to Claudia D.! You gave Treats his name!

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Claudia D.! Du hast Treats seinen Namen geschenkt!

About Treats

What life with Treats looks like

Treats is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Treats, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Treats?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Treats on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Treats if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Treats already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Treats isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Treats and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
