TRINIDAD

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 4 months

The small gray-tigered TRINIDAD came to us with his brothers as about one week old kittens. Unfortunately, their mother was hit by a car on the street and attentive people heard the kittens crying pitifully. The three little brothers have also developed well without a mother and have grown into social young cats. They are playful in terms of age and bring laughter to their caregivers with their funny nature. As soon as a person approaches them, they start purring and want to be stroked. The boy trio has been vaccinated once, dewormed several times, and chipped. In early/mid-August, they are ready to move into their new home. There, after acclimatization and castration, they would like the possibility of outdoor access. We are happy to mediate the young cats in pairs with one of the siblings or a young cat already living in the household. Children at primary school age and also cat-friendly and experienced dogs should not be a problem when introduced carefully. If you want to get to know the handsome TRINIDAD and his brothers (TOBAGO and CURACAO), please contact us by phone or email .

About TRINIDAD

What life with TRINIDAD looks like

TRINIDAD is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald in Wald-Michelbach.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting TRINIDAD, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TRINIDAD?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TRINIDAD on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TRINIDAD if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TRINIDAD already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TRINIDAD isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald early rather than rehoming privately; they know TRINIDAD and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
