Tristan / Snow

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Tristan arrived at the shelter at the very end of his life, emaciated and exhausted from everything he had endured. His past is difficult and sad, but what is truly remarkable is that despite everything, he has not lost faith in people. Tristan loves people of all ages and never misses an opportunity to be petted. As soon as you approach him, he will gently push his large head into your hands, seeking the touch and attention he loves so much. Known for his impressive white fur, many call him Snow. He loves toys, companionship, and the small moments of happiness he finally has the chance to experience today. And perhaps the most touching part of his story is the way he reacts to a meal. Every time he gets his bowl of food, Tristan genuinely rejoices as if he still can't believe that this food is really for him. Every meal means security, love, and a new beginning for him. After everything he has been through, Tristan deserves a home where he will never again feel hunger, fear, or loneliness.

HR·Show original

About Tristan / Snow

What life with Tristan / Snow looks like

Tristan / Snow is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Sklonište za napuštene životinje Zadar in Zadar.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇷Adopting from Croatia

Croatian shelters include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID in the adoption process. Several work with Italian and German rescue networks for placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tristan / Snow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tristan / Snow?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Sklonište za napuštene životinje Zadar handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tristan / Snow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tristan / Snow if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Sklonište za napuštene životinje Zadar will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tristan / Snow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tristan / Snow isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Sklonište za napuštene životinje Zadar early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tristan / Snow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
