Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Czechoslovakian Wolfdog Mix My name is Markani. I am male, vaccinated, microchipped, and born around 2019. I have been waiting since November 2021 for a new home. I am around 75 cm tall. My caretakers say about me: Markani is a regional find dog and held residents, dog walkers with their dogs, us, and the police, including an entire dog squad, on their feet for two days. He was unsettled and wouldn't settle down. Fortunately, he jogged onto the property of a dog-friendly senior who promptly closed the gate. After the initial commotion, he could be lured with little persuasion and seemed immediately relieved. Since there was neither a missing dog report nor a lead after publication, we assume the handsome fellow was let go. By now, the initial fear has faded, and an exuberant young dog is emerging. During the security check on the senior's property, a roam-free tomcat was tolerated with interest, albeit with some curiosity. With training, he can be safely accustomed to cats. He shows compatibility, now lives with a female dog, and gets along with social male dogs. He can be assertive with fellow animals if they are confident, but he doesn't take kindly to being pushed around. Of course, he won't back down if he's challenged and can then give a good beating. Ideally, we would like to place Markani in a house with a garden, preferably with few stairs to navigate. Apartment living is also an option. Children should be steady. Shared enthusiasm and joy in training are assumed. His size seems more of a challenge for us than for him, and at the end of walks, the caretakers, despite the pandemic, are sometimes spontaneously hugged. We are convinced that under the stormy Markani lies a true gentleman, when the fine-tuning is done. Who would like to be affectionately hugged by Markani in his manners' weak moments, due to his youth, and bring out the gentleman in him?

About Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211

What life with Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211 looks like

Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211 is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tschecheslowakischer Wolfshundmix Markani &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
