Turbo

Male · Young · 3 years

Turbo is a young dog. He has plenty of energy, which he loves to expend during walks and play sessions in open spaces. He absolutely adores walks, but he truly enjoys them only in places with few distractions. He gets easily excited—even a voice or a touch can trigger strong emotions in him. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know how to manage these emotions, so he tries to chew on shoes and demands attention by jumping up and grabbing at people’s hands. Playing with toys—especially those with bumps and textures—helps him channel his energy and calm down a bit. Turbo really needs a home; the shelter is not the right place for him, given his personality, as it doesn’t promote calmness, learning, or the fulfillment of his needs. The guardian should be above all mindful and responsible—a person who can help Turbo learn to relax and realize that he doesn’t have to constantly control all the cool things around him and that humans can be trusted.

PL·Show original

About Turbo

What life with Turbo looks like

Turbo is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu in Poznan.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Turbo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Turbo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Turbo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Turbo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Turbo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Turbo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Turbo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
