adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Twinkle has found a home! His story: Twinkle had quite the bumpy start in life. Found together with his siblings near a village near Bistrita, they would definitely not have made it through the winter alone. Since their rescue, the colorful bunch, which includes Nila, Bertha, Mr. Schröder, Mr. von Bülow, and Mr. Sander, has been mixing it up at their foster home. Twinkle is approximately 3 months old and has beautiful black-and-white fur. With the local helpers, he is sweet as can be, very playful, and friendly. He also gets along well with other dogs. Whether he does with cats has not yet been tested. Even though Twinkle was lucky enough to find a place in a foster home, this is of course not a home. Additionally, the dogs are usually housed outdoors there as well. The winter in Romania is cold, and we would be very grateful for another foster home. The little puppy is ready for a new life and wants to be loved. Of course, a puppy means a lot of responsibility, and one should be aware of this in advance. In his young life, Twinkle has not yet had the chance to experience much. We would therefore like people who can give him the necessary time to settle into his new life. He still needs to learn to be a dog ABC. This includes leash training, house training, and everything that contributes to a peaceful coexistence in a household. Puppy children require patience, empathy, and loving consequences. Collaboration with a positively working dog training class can be a wonderful support and enrichment for both human and dog. So the right steps are taken so that Twinkle can fulfill his potential and grow into the wonderful dog that is already in him. If the charming fellow makes your eyes "twinkle," then feel free to contact us. Twinkle is waiting for your request. Twinkle travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He was named by Dagmara, and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts. You gave Twinkle the chance to have its own dog bed. As of: 13.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 13.01.2026

About Twinkle

What life with Twinkle looks like

Twinkle is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Twinkle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Twinkle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Twinkle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Twinkle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Twinkle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Twinkle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Twinkle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
