Adopt Una

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Hello everyone! My name is Rocío, and I want to introduce you to MASCOTAS CON FUTURO, the project I've launched after over twenty-five years of collaborating with animal rescue associations. To start, I should mention that our family has always been full of animals; who says dogs doesn't include ducks, turtles, hamsters... even Una a goat raised on a blue bottle, who always thought my pink one was hers and tried to steal it whenever she could. That's how I ended up in this world, surrounded by animals and happy! My brother Javier was the same, always with dogs around. He even had some serious health issues with a few of them, but nothing could separate us from them. They are our family, both the ones we have and the ones we've taken in, because... we've taken in several. You see, my mother would pick up any living creature in need from the streets, and we thought it was great. That was how we lived, how could we leave them behind! When my niece Lucía was little, she shared her childhood with our German Shepherd. And I still remember, perfectly, many anecdotes where the little girl would talk to the dog as naturally as the world, and both were happy. It was normal in our house. It always has been. And so we grew up. Now, this passion for animals that we share, has turned into a project full of love, strength, and commitment, born to provide solutions to the challenges faced by those who, at some point, have rescued an animal from the street and embarked on the noble mission of giving that animal a Una second chance in life. Our love for animals is unbreakable, and we have set the goal of supporting small animal rescue associations that tirelessly fight for the well-being of homeless dogs and cats. We know the arduous work these associations do, as well as the difficulties that arise from the moment an abandoned animal is picked up until it finally finds a new home. That's when we want to collaborate financially, in that long journey that sometimes seems never-ending. Many animal rescue associations need financial support to cover the numerous expenses that come with rescuing and caring for an abandoned animal. This includes endless veterinary bills, food, foster care homes, and everything an animal needs from the moment it is rescued until it is adopted. With our love and effort, we want to improve the lives of homeless animals. That is our goal. Join our team and be part of the solution. Together, we can do great things. Don't stand there and join us.» What are you waiting for to be part of this wonderful project? To collaborate, you only have to visit their website where they detail all the necessary information.

Juntos podemos hacer grandes cosas. No te quedes ahí parado y acompáñanos.»

About Una

What life with Una looks like

Una is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at El Refugio Escuela Marlene in Seville.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Una, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Una?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. El Refugio Escuela Marlene handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Una on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Una if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — El Refugio Escuela Marlene will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Una already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Una isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with El Refugio Escuela Marlene early rather than rehoming privately; they know Una and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
