Adopt Un’adozione “fortunata”

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 11 years

He arrived at our shelter after living 11 years abandoned on the streets... He was missing an eye and had many wounds from his life as a stray dog: the life that cats who have no one to give them a hug and must find a way to get something to eat every day have to endure... 😢 Despite all his problems and his life on the street, we realized he was very sweet and kind. Seeing him and imagining what he had been through made our hearts ache... We named him "Fortunato" to exorcise the bad luck that had targeted this very worn-out little cat... We had him spayed and treated, but hoping for his adoption was really complicated. And yet, perhaps that name was a good omen. Unexpectedly, Fortunato managed to win over the hearts of these two wonderful boys who decided to adopt him and give him a new opportunity. 🙏🏡🥰 As always in these cases, we are the ones who feel "lucky" to be able to witness these stories. Have a second happy life, Fortunato... 🥹💪 DO YOU WANT TO SUPPORT OUR ACTIVITIES? MAKE A DONATION! PS:

Buona seconda vita Fortunato… 🥹💪 VUOI SOSTENERE LE NOSTRE ATTIVITÀ? FAI UNA DONAZIONE! About Un’adozione “fortunata”

What life with Un’adozione “fortunata” looks like

Un’adozione “fortunata” is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Oasi Felina Pianoro in Italy.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Un’adozione “fortunata”, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Un’adozione “fortunata”?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oasi Felina Pianoro handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Un’adozione “fortunata” on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Un’adozione “fortunata” if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oasi Felina Pianoro will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Un’adozione “fortunata” already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Un’adozione “fortunata” isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oasi Felina Pianoro early rather than rehoming privately; they know Un’adozione “fortunata” and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
