Die Saugroboter-Gang

Unknown · Young · 1 year

Our antennae catfish are looking for a suitable home with aquarium enthusiasts. The peaceful bottom dwellers are mainly active at dusk and spend a lot of time grazing on surfaces, roots and decorations. Antenna catfish can grow to about 10 to 15 centimeters depending on the species and can live for many years with good care. They therefore need a sufficiently large, well-established aquarium. For our group, the tank should be generously sized and well-structured. Roots or suitable natural wood are particularly important as the animals rasp on them. Additionally, they need several caves, tubes and other retreats. With multiple male animals, there should be enough separate hiding places and territories. Good filtration, oxygen-rich water and regular partial water changes are essential. The water temperature should be approximately between 22 and 28 °C depending on the exact species and the rest of the stock. A combination with peaceful fish that have similar demands on the water values is usually possible. Antenna catfish are often referred to as "algae cleaners", but algae and food residues are by no means enough as a diet. They need their own, mostly plant-based food, such as high-quality food tablets and occasionally suitable vegetables. Natural wood should be available permanently. Since antenna catfish can multiply very strongly under suitable conditions, the offspring problem must also be considered with a mixed-sex group. Responsible people who are already involved in aquarium keeping and can provide our small "underwater antennas" with a permanently suitable home are sought.

About Die Saugroboter-Gang

What life with Die Saugroboter-Gang looks like

Die Saugroboter-Gang is a large young adult animal waiting at Tierheim Linz in Linz.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Die Saugroboter-Gang far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Die Saugroboter-Gang, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Die Saugroboter-Gang?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Linz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Die Saugroboter-Gang on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Die Saugroboter-Gang if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Linz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Die Saugroboter-Gang already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Die Saugroboter-Gang isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Linz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Die Saugroboter-Gang and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
