Misiek – male dog, neutered, born ca. 2021, shoulder height ca. 60cm, in the animal shelter Belchatow since 29.04.2024! Misiek will be brought to us – without a leash, he runs freely on the meadow, he is so happy to run and sniff around. Agnes calls him to her, he comes immediately to her, we were impressed. It is so beautiful for us to see how a dog can run freely here, under these circumstances, and be so attached to his caregiver – and be so responsive to her. This shows us that when he trusts his primary caregiver, he can have so much fun with her, he listens to her calls, is funny and happy. Misiek greets us, he likes all people, likes to snuggle and we can touch him everywhere. The handsome male dog is a happy and lively dog who enjoys the contact with people very much. He shows himself friendly and open to unfamiliar visitors and is happy about every attention. Curious, he looks around, is inquisitive. His caregiver tells us that "Misiek at first had fear of people in the animal shelter, but then completely got over it. He avoids conflicts with other dogs, at the vet he has no problems, waits patiently. He is a very lovable friend. Misiek loves to snuggle in the arms of a person and loves it when you talk to him." What a wonderful, fine dog Misiek is, an active dog who likes to be on the go, but also enjoys cozy moments with his trusted people. For Misiek, we wish a home with people who enjoy shared walks and activities. He would be a great companion as a single dog or to an existing dog. With his friendly nature and positive energy, he will surely enrich the life of his new family. Misiek also runs well on a leash, as he shows us. He shares his kennel with male dogs and female dogs. (05/2026 KW/WK )

About Unknown

What life with Unknown looks like

Unknown is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundehilfe Polen in Dierkshausen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Unknown, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Unknown?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundehilfe Polen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Unknown on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Unknown if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundehilfe Polen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Unknown already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Unknown isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundehilfe Polen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Unknown and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
