From the beginning, she has been very friendly towards people, very affectionate and has basic training. She doesn't seem to want to cuddle with female dogs (well, you can't expect that from every dog), but on walks on a leash, she pays more attention to her human. Due to space constraints in the animal shelter (they try to avoid euthanasia), she has shared a kennel with another male dog several times. Even at the bowl, there were no problems. However, tensions gradually developed with the friendly SCOUBIDOO, and with a smaller black Staffordshire Bull Terrier, it went well for a long time (he was considered the previously incompatible dog), but yesterday, a serious fight broke out. VAIANA has been in the clinic since then. The smaller Staffie has no injuries, which speaks for itself. VAIANA underwent surgery yesterday and now needs to return to the station with this serious injury. I must say it again, very clearly: we are not talking about a German animal shelter with a hospital ward, but about a kennel with unheated huts (which we bought, otherwise there would only be a wooden board). We are now looking for a place for VAIANA, clean, warm, where she can recover. She should not be with another dog without supervision. We believe she can live with a male dog in the long term, but we would prefer a single place, preferably with contact to other dogs. However, what is more important to her is close human interaction, where she is also challenged in a way typical of her breed. She does not come from a working line, but she is not a pure couch potato either. A Belgian Shepherd wants to please, he usually doesn't even need treats, he must understand what the human wants, then he will try everything to be praised. VAIANA - nach Verletzung in großer Not ! - Belg. SH, ca. 4 J., geb.ca.05.06.2022, geimpft, gechippt, kastriert, EU-Paß. - Wartet in Frankreich - VAIANA ist eine auf 4 Jahre geschätzte Belgische Schäferhündin. Von Anfang hat sie sich sehr freundlich gegenüber Menschen gezeigt, sehr verschmust und Anfangserziehung gibt es auch. Mit Hündinnen will sie wohl nicht schmusen (naja, das kann man auch nicht von jedem Hund erwarten), aber beim Spaziergang an der Leine achtet sie mehr auf ihren Menschen. Wegen des Platzmangels in der Fourriere (man versucht, ohne Tötungen auszukommen) hat sie sich mehrfach den Zwinger mit einem anderen Rüden geteilt. Selbst am Napf gab es dabei keine Probleme. Aber bereits beim Zusammenleben mit dem freundlichen SCOUBIDOO gab es nach und nach Spannungen, mit einem kleineren schwarzen Staffi ging es lange Zeit gut (da galt er als der ehemals unverträgliche Hund), aber vorgestern kam es zu einer schlimmen Beißerei. VAIANA ist seitdem in der Klinik. Der kleinere Staffie hat keine Verletzungen, das spricht für sich. VAIANA wurde gestern operiert und muss nun mit dieser schlimmen Verletzung wieder zurück in die Station. Ich muss es wieder mal ganz deutlich sagen: wir sprechen nicht von einem deutschen Tierheim, mit Krankenstation, sondern von einer Zwingeranlage mit unbeheizbaren Hütten (die wir gekauft haben, sonst gäbe es nur ein Holzbrett). Wir suchen daher nun GANZ DRINGEND für VAIANA einen Platz, sauber, warm, wo sie genesen kann. Ohne Kontrolle sollte sie nicht mit einem anderen Hund zusammen sein. Wir glauben, dass sie auf Dauer mit einem Rüden zusammen leben kann, aber noch lieber wäre uns ein Einzelplatz, gerne aber mit Kontakt zu anderen Hunden. Noch wichtiger ist ihr aber das enge Zusammenleben mit Menschen, wo sie auch rassetypisch gefordert wird. Sie entstammt keiner Arbeitslinie, aber sie ist auch kein reiner Couchpotato. Ein belgischer Schäferhund möchte gefallen, er braucht meist noch nicht mal Leckerlis, er muss verstehen, was Mensch möchte, dann wird er alles versuchen, um gelobt zu werden.
