Vanna

Unknown · Young · 3 years

Update By the end of April, in mid-April, all of Vanna's teeth had to be removed due to a diagnosis of plasma-cellular gingivitis by the veterinarian. This is often part of Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis and a very painful, chronic gum inflammation in cats. The operation went well, and for the nearly three-year-old Vanna, this new life without teeth means she can eat more relaxed and can be more active and full of joy again. Cats do just fine without teeth too! During the recovery phase, Vanna was allowed to move into the family house into a separated area in the living room. The little one enjoyed the new, exciting environment already after a short recovery period. The best part, however, for the lovable and people-oriented kitten was the close family connection and the many play and cuddle times! Through a mesh, Vanna could get to know the other cats and the foster home's dog. It turned out that she would rather do without other cats in her future home. The experienced dog, on the other hand, ignored her, and we assume that Vanna would get along well with a nice dog in her new home. Vannas mouth wounds from the operation are now well healed, and Vanna had to move back into the garden shed. Surely, the loving kitten dreams of a loving home as a solo princess. Vanna has been waiting so long, who can finally give the sweet cuddly cat a family connection and a nice spot with a yard? Vanna had a bad start in life. Born into a small colony in Olbia, she had to learn quickly to survive despite the dangers of the street and unfortunately also cat-hating people. Our association successfully campaigned for the neutering of the cats in this colony at that time. Actually, Vanna and Co. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Vanna

What life with Vanna looks like

Vanna is a young adult cat waiting at PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vanna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vanna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vanna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vanna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vanna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vanna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vanna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
