EL·Show original

Λατρεύει τα χάδια και βρίσκει πάντα τον τρόπο να σου δείξει την αγάπη της: σε σκουντάει απαλά με το κεφαλάκι της, σε κοιτάζει στα μάτια και ζητάει απλώς ένα χάδι ακόμα ❤️ Είναι 6 ετων και φιλοξενείται στη φάρμα της Βρούβας στην Αίγινα και τα πάει άψογα με όλα τα ζωάκια 🐾 She might not stop your scroll with her photo. But if you meet her in person, Vera will be the one who steals your heart. Vera was found malnourished on Aegina after being abandoned. And yet, even though she experienced neglect, she never stopped believing in people. With love and proper care, she got back on her feet, completed all the necessary tests, and today she is completely healthy and ready to leave the past behind and start a new life. She is one of those dogs who don’t “stand out” in photos, but in person she looks you in the eyes and quietly wins you over. Vera is love at first sight. She is tender, calm, and thirsty for human contact. She loves cuddles and always finds a way to show her affection: she gently nudges you with her little head, looks into your eyes, and simply asks for one more cuddle ❤️ She is 6 years old and she is being fostered at VrouvasFarm on Aegina and gets along perfectly with all animals 🐾 She would be the perfect companion for you and would also be a great match for a home with young children ❤️ If you are interested in adoption, please fill in our form: 👉 Thank you! -Aθήνα

About Vera (Βέρα)

What life with Vera (Βέρα) looks like

Vera (Βέρα) is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs Voice in Athens.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vera (Βέρα), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vera (Βέρα)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Voice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vera (Βέρα) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vera (Βέρα) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Voice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vera (Βέρα) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vera (Βέρα) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Voice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vera (Βέρα) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
