Vicky

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Vicky is a beautiful, extremely slender cat who has captured the hearts of people at lightning speed. Her narrow head with her huge black-rimmed eyes, her silky white and brown tabby fur, and her obvious affection for all bipeds ensure that cat lovers can hardly resist this one-year-old girl. This was also the case with the lady to whom Vicky had run after losing her original home for reasons not comprehensible. In choosing her new owners, the little mouse proved to have excellent instincts, because the lady immediately fell under her charm and was determined to keep the foundling. But then the little princess unfortunately overestimated herself. Because a slightly older cat lived in the household in happy togetherness with its human. Instead of arranging with the roommate, Vicky tried to get rid of what she considered annoying competition. She went about it so brutally that her human finally pulled the ripcord and reluctantly parted ways with Vicky for the sake of their "old" cat. Now the spoiled cat girl is waiting for people who meet her need for undivided attention and are willing to do without further pets. Vicky doesn't make it difficult for her new people, because she is absolutely compatible with bipeds. Even prudent children are highly rated by her. After all, playing and cuddling are among Vicky's favorite activities, and big and small humans are welcome. The main thing is that they have plenty of time for their new cat companion and admire her to a sufficient extent. For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that cats like Vicky absolutely need a protected retreat where they can be left in peace unconditionally! Under this condition, Vicky is happy to give cat beginners a chance. After an acclimatization period, secure outdoor access in a traffic-free area is indispensable. DE·Show original

About Vicky

What life with Vicky looks like

Vicky is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenhilfe Neuwied e.V. in Neuwied.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vicky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vicky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenhilfe Neuwied e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vicky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vicky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenhilfe Neuwied e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vicky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vicky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenhilfe Neuwied e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vicky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
