Vilma-5

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 2 months

Haya, the beautiful mother of Vilma and Irma, was spotted alone on April 17, 2026, near the animal shelter in an advanced stage of pregnancy. She was caught using a live trap. On May 1, 2026, Haya gave birth to her puppies, but unfortunately, only Vilma and Irma survived; the others died shortly after birth, which is very sad. Vilma and Irma are now looking for their new humans. We keep our fingers crossed that they will find a responsible home soon. The two do not have to be placed together. Although the shelter is not the ideal place for a dog family, they are safe there and the puppies have not had any bad experiences yet. The little ones are typical puppy children, playful, curious, and loving. They explore their limited surroundings every day a bit more. Of course, mischief is in their blood, and they also have a lot of nonsense on their minds. The puppies are still green behind the ears and must be taught by their new humans at the right time, lovingly and patiently everything that a puppy needs to know for his further life. They need to be steered into the right paths, given a framework where they can develop, as well as loving but clear leadership and rules, then they will become great companions who will go through thick and thin with their humans. The siblings live together in a kennel and love to play, romp, measure their strength, and test their limits every day a bit more, just like all puppies do. We are looking for our dearest duo loving and adventurous dog friends who are aware of what work, time, and patience they have to invest in a puppy and which responsibility they carry for the next years. A great home where they can enjoy plenty of fun and action with extended and varied walks, where they also get enough rest phases, where they are exercised and aged appropriately, and daily many caresses. Then the visit to a dog / puppy school and full family connection and Vilma and Irma can start full throttle. Two enchanting puppies are soon ready for any adventure! At present they are too young for castration, which must be done by their new owners when they are old enough. Estimated final size of 45-55cm and estimated weight of 16-22kg. On July 1, 2026, Vilma is 27cm and 4.2kg The sisters can travel from around the end of August 2026 if they have found a home or foster family.

About Vilma-5

What life with Vilma-5 looks like

Vilma-5 is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vilma-5, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vilma-5?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vilma-5 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vilma-5 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vilma-5 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vilma-5 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vilma-5 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
