VINCE

Mixed Breed · Female

Name0, at the shelter for 345 days I am called Name0, a beautiful Belgian Shepherd who arrived at the shelter following a seizure by authorities due to mistreatment. Today, I can be adopted and finally live in the comfort of a home. I am a very friendly, affectionate and loving dog, enjoying human company which reassures me, I am sensitive by nature. I am rather calm on walks during which I love rolling in the grass, taking cuddle breaks, having treats, splashing in water when it's hot. For rest I need quiet and I enjoy these pause times. I also really like, and need, to chew toys when I'm a bit stressed (the shelter particularly stresses me...). I have good basic training and understand quickly what is expected of me; it will need to continue with tenderness and kindness (probably because of my difficult beginning in life, I don't like yelling and abrupt gestures). I generally get along with other animals of the same species, especially females, for males it depends. However, living with cats is impossible (I chase them!) and young children are not recommended as I have trouble managing the surrounding excitement. My adopters must know the specifics of my breed, with knowledge in positive education. Due to a slight elbow dysplasia (I recently had a small operation because of pain), I may occasionally limp in the future and it will be necessary to avoid running, jumping, etc... (no agility or canicross); the best for me is several daily walks and mental games. So if you think you can meet my needs, give me lots of cuddles, have a bit of patience to learn to discover me and a lot of love, come meet me you will not be disappointed! I need a quiet home, preferably in the countryside.

About VINCE

What life with VINCE looks like

VINCE is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at SPA Lagord / La Rochelle in Lagord.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting VINCE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about VINCE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Lagord / La Rochelle handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw VINCE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt VINCE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Lagord / La Rochelle will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is VINCE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if VINCE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Lagord / La Rochelle early rather than rehoming privately; they know VINCE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
