Viola

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 18 years

A unfortunate little mouse was found in poor condition after a road accident and brought to us at our shelter. We have taken care of her and she underwent a complicated surgery, with metal plates inserted between her legs and pelvis. Fortunately, the operation went well and the rehabilitation is also going well. Unfortunately, however, Viola is absolutely wild; it is impossible to approach her without risking an attack; even a distance of a few meters is already too close for her. All this suspicion makes the care very complicated, but we do not give up and continue to try to make her understand that she can feel safe with us. We will see if we can succeed. In the meantime, Viola remains available for adoption only at a distance (click ADOPTIONS AT DISTANCE). Viola is registered at the Regional Voluntary Association Registry with Directive Act n. 102/SA of 21/05/2008, number 260. Tax Code: 92049230516. Call the ASL central office (______) asking for the veterinary service, which will activate the capture service on duty.

About Viola

What life with Viola looks like

Viola is a small senior mixed breed cat waiting at Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali in Italy.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Viola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Viola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Viola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Viola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Viola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Viola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali early rather than rehoming privately; they know Viola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
