adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Violina has found her people! Her story: Would an older female dog with a sweet puppy-like character appeal to you? Then our Violina is the perfect choice! Found alone as a stray on the street, the enchanting female dog is now safe in our care. Initially, she is a bit reserved, but never aggressive. With a little patience, she quickly builds trust and becomes a super friendly female dog, eagerly looking forward to spending time with you. Unfortunately, she does not feel comfortable in the noisy environment with all the other dogs and is becoming increasingly sad. So, it's a high stakes decision to send Violina to a foster or permanent placement. Violina is a medium-sized female dog, about 48 cm tall and weighing 20 kg. At 12-14 years old, she is far from old age, as she is still very agile for her age. However, her age is naturally showing in her body, and we assume she suffers from joint pain, which may require medication. Despite this, she is still just as motivated for short walks as she is for a marathon of cuddling on the couch. She also walks calmly on a leash and is also compatible with her fellow animals. Violina wishes for a home where she can arrive in peace and be lovingly cared for. She would do anything to have a real, loving home where she can enjoy many cuddle hours in addition to her walks. Of course, there will be many new things for her, but we are sure she will quickly adapt and learn. We see Violina in any conceivable peaceful family constellation, but without loud and small children, as Violina would be overly stressed by the extreme unrest. Violina travels with her own EU pet passport. She would also be very happy about a foster placement. Many thanks to Silvie S.! You named Violina. A heartfelt thank you to Lisa B.! Vielen Dank Silvie S.! Du hast Violina ihren Namen geschenkt. Ein herzliches Dankeschön an Lisa B.! Du unterstützt Violina mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 20.05.2024

About Violina

What life with Violina looks like

Violina is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Violina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Violina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Violina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Violina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Violina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Violina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Violina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
