Viva

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Viva is a 2-year-old Pomeranian. She was given up because her owner returned abroad. In her previous home, she was considered a lovely dog, but she was mainly treated as a fragile, precious mascot - she was carried on her hands and isolated from the world. This led to a complete lack of socialization: Viva never learned independence or how to deal with everyday life. When she arrived at the shelter, she lost her safe world and reacted with great fear. She is very afraid of touch and defends herself by threatening with her teeth. The caregiver works with the dog with great caution and, despite this, only after some time was able to gently stroke her. On the runway, Viva is completely lost: she doesn't want to walk, as if she doesn't know what to do with herself. We are looking for a calm, very patient and aware home for her, where she will not be treated like a toy, but a full-fledged dog. Viva needs a guide who, without haste and without pressure, but with a great deal of understanding, will help her overcome her fear. This is a delicate dog that requires wise work to gain confidence and simply learn to function. We do not know her attitude towards children and cats, but we have information that may indicate separation anxiety (loud barking).

PL·Show original

Viva to 2-letnia suczka rasy szpic miniaturowy. Trafiając do schroniska, straciła swój bezpieczny świat i zareagowała ogromnym strachem.

About Viva

What life with Viva looks like

Viva is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Wrocław in Wrocław.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Viva, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Viva?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Wrocław handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Viva on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Viva if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Wrocław will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Viva already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Viva isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Wrocław early rather than rehoming privately; they know Viva and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
