Vivo

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Vivo, the handsome male with a crooked ear (born in January 2021 and about 60 cm tall) is an exceptionally friendly, affectionate and cuddly dog. He is friendly towards people and enjoys any form of attention. Especially nice: He even lets himself be brushed and enjoys these little moments of well-being. He is compatible and social with the other dogs in his kennel. He does not seek conflicts and shows himself uncomplicated and friendly in his coexistence with his fellow dogs. The sympathetic dog man also has a special talent: He likes to sit on his hut and keeps a watchful eye on what's going on around him. Apparently, he doesn't want to miss anything and observes interestedly what's happening in his surroundings. Therefore, we can imagine him very well in a home with a garden, from which he can observe his kingdom and enjoy the sun at the same time. To what extent he already knows life in the house, we unfortunately cannot say. Therefore, we assume that some everyday things might still be new to him. His future family should therefore give him the time to settle in quietly and lead him patiently to household noises, processes and everything that belongs to family life. Also, being alone must be learned with patience and in stages - without pressure. A confident first dog could be a great support for him. For this lovable, big dog, we are looking for a foster home or people who want to offer him a forever home. They want to have a loyal companion by their side and finally give Vivo the security he longs for so much. A home with a garden in a rather quiet environment would certainly be a small dream for him, so that he can continue to pursue his passion of keeping an eye on everything. Vivo is neutered and will be vaccinated, chipped and placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check. General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so that we can always reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a possible good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new processes and new impressions - can also show himself differently. This is quite normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should give an orientation and show how the dog presents himself in the shelter - and what potential is in him. We are convinced: With patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and develop positively.

About Vivo

What life with Vivo looks like

Vivo is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vivo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vivo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vivo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vivo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Vivo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vivo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vivo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
