adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Volley has found his home! His story: Our handsome Volley is waiting in his foster home for his heart family for cuddle hours for life. The young pup escaped the shelter in mid-December and moved in with his foster family in Witten. Here, the exceptionally beautiful red-brown dream dog lives happily and contentedly with a cat and a child. He has settled in quickly, was house-trained within a few days, and is delighted with the close bond to his people. Visitors meet him friendly, not pushy, and he lies peacefully by the family meal. He simply wants to be nearby and present. The golden pup is not hyper and likes to take his time. He is a dog who learns quickly and easily, but also needs consistent training. We assume that he will have a lot of fun in future dog training classes with fellow animals. Walking with Volley is easy: Leash handling was no problem from the start, dog encounters are very friendly and full of joy. The nice guy reacts initially reserved to cars, bicycles, joggers, etc., but already by the second time it works much better. Volley is puppy-like playful, knows basic commands, and loves his food. For that, he will do almost anything! Volley can already be alone in the room for a moment. He knows how to drive a car and likes it, but he still needs practice and the right treats to get the hang of it. Volley is about 5.5 months old and already 58 cm tall. He will therefore grow into a large male dog. Originally, Volley came from Bistrita. He was brought from a Romanian foster home to the Public Shelter Bistrita along with his siblings Bentley, Shiloh, Koda, Holly, Bella, and Neli due to space constraints. We do not know anything about his further history. Volley is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings an EU pet passport with him and can be adopted after a positive health check. Have you fallen in love with Volley yet? He has already packed his bags and is eagerly waiting for his forever home. Thank you to Fina! You named Volley. Status: 28.12.

Hast du dich schon in Volley verliebt? Vielen Dank an Fina! Du hast Volley seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 28.12.2024

About Volley

What life with Volley looks like

Volley is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Volley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Volley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Volley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Volley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Volley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Volley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Volley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
