female Rottweiler wesenstestpflichtig Born September 2020 Not in the animal shelter, private placement, contact see below! The animal shelter Cappel in Marburg does not take any responsibility for private placement ads or ads from other organizations. ________________________ Here the private ad (Hera lives in 56244 Westerwald): Hera – a large, character-strong Rottweiler female dog seeks an experienced home Name: Hera Breed: Rottweiler (purebred) Born: September 2020 (5 years old) Gender: female dog, not neutered Weight: ca. 50 kg Vaccination status: Rabies vaccination present, vaccinations likely no longer current Chip: present Current location: currently in farm care Hera is an impressive, large Rottweiler female dog with a strong character. Those who know her and trust her will find her friendly, clingy, and cuddly. She loves to be close to "her" people, likes to be cozy nearby, rides in the car, and enjoys being petted. She is generally calm and content, but also enjoys ball games or small training sessions – as long as she gets to decide when it's enough. Hera communicates very clearly when she doesn't want something, and thus seeks people who can read dog language. Special notes Hera has already snapped in a stressful situation when she was held by the collar. While there were no official orders, she should be rehomed to experienced hands – ideally to someone with Rottweiler or working dog experience who can handle her confidently and calmly. In Hesse, Hera is a wesenstestpflichtig Rottweiler. When feeding, one should not disturb her as she defends her food. She is not compatible with other dogs, and cats or small children should not live in the household. husbandry & placement wish Hera is familiar with farm and outdoor care but was also in the house for some time and was then reliably house-trained. She wishes for a home as a single dog without children, where she gets clear structures, security, and a person she can trust. An enclosed yard or a place with dog-experienced people (preferably also dog trainers or animal experienced individuals) would be ideal. Placement time frame A new home or a place with an animal welfare association / Gna-denhof is sought until at the latest February 2026. weiblich Rottweiler wesenstestpflichtig Geboren 09/2020 Nicht im Tierheim, Privatvermittlung, Kontakt s. unten! About Von Privat Hera

What life with Von Privat Hera looks like

Von Privat Hera is a extra-large adult rottweiler dog waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Von Privat Hera, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Von Privat Hera?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Von Privat Hera on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Von Privat Hera if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Von Privat Hera already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Von Privat Hera isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Von Privat Hera and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
