Walter

Mixed Breed · Male · Baby · 4 months

Walter is a small kitten that will only be adopted with another kitten or a cat of similar age. Socialization is essential for kittens and goes far beyond the "12 weeks". Kittens should definitely be adopted in pairs because they are social animals that need a lot of attention and companionship. Growing up and playing together strengthens their bond and provides more stimulation, preventing boredom and behavioral problems. They also feel less lonely and safer, which significantly improves their well-being. This also makes it easier to adjust to a new home, as they support each other. Additionally, it is very important for future outdoor cats to learn cat language. If cats understand their body language and signals, they can communicate better and avoid conflicts with other animals or people. This helps them move more safely in the wild and better assess their surroundings. A good understanding of cat language is an important foundation for ensuring harmonious coexistence outdoors. Future owners commit to having kittens from our animal welfare association spayed or neutered at the appropriate age (females at 6 months, males at 8 months)

Frequently asked

Adopting Walter, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Walter?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Walter on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Walter if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a animal can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Walter already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a animal comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. directly what is included and what Walter still needs.
What happens if Walter isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Walter and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
